Clubhouse Event: Considered Careers

Updated: Feb 26, 2021

Welcome to the second in our series of 'Considered' events by Hunt Communications and Araminta Marketing; Considered Careers.

Changes to what people want from their careers have been in the making for a long time, but events of the last year have accelerated peoples values and priorities when it comes to how they work, where they work and what they expect from their employers. As communications specialists, we see that internal communications has become more important that ever before when it comes to attracting and retaining high quality employees and freelancers. This weeks power panel will discuss how employers, employees and freelancers will approach how they work moving forward.

About the Panel

Louise Troen: director, Global Marketing at Formula E

Lou is a leading marketeer and strategic communications expert working in the consumer landscape. She is an entrepreneurially minded creative with 10 + years experience and a vested interest in consumer behaviour, brand building, and technological innovation.

Her current role is at Formula E. She is leading their global marketing for the electric racing series, focused on driving sustainable human progress through the adoption of electric vehicles.

She was the VP of international marketing and communications at Bumble for 4 1/2 years, and during that time she transformed the app in to the shape it is today. Bumble’s mantra is to empower women, encouraging them to go after what they truly want - something Lou passionately believes in. Prior to that she lived in LA working as a celebrity publicist.

Victoria Prew, Co-Founder & CEO at HURR Collective

Victoria Prew is the co-founder and CEO of HURR, the UK’s first peer-to-peer wardrobe rental platform. Offering luxury fashion to women who prefer to rent rather than buy, HURR was deemed the ‘Airbnb of Fashion’ by Forbes in 2019.

Headquartered in London, HURR aims to address an underserved market of women who want access to the latest trends, without the commitment of purchase. Prew is the first to tap into the growing market, spearheading rental fashion and shifts in millennial behaviour.

Prew studied Real Estate, launching her own technology product before training as a Chartered Surveyor. The entrepreneur identified an opportunity born from two complementary movements: the rise of sustainable fashion and the rental revolution. The website showcases an unlimited ‘virtual wardrobe’ for luxury rentals, including curated edits, the latest trend pieces and celebrity wardrobes. HURR carries over £1 million+ of inventory and is showing no signs of slowing down. Partnerships with Eco-Age and TRAID are putting HURR on the map as a pioneer of the fashion tech sector.

Daniel Horner, Co-Founder at Chimera Recruitment

Daniel Horner is co-founder of Chimera Recruitment, specialising in temporary & full time placements within the retail industry. Having such an enthusiastic passion for people and helping to offer opportunities, he draws upon his own extensive shop floor experience to help train, guide and bring inspiration to others interested in working within retail.

Venetia Archer, CEO & Founder at Ruuby / Forbes 30 Under 30 2017

Venetia is founder and CEO of Ruuby, London's on-demand beauty bookings app dubbed the Uber of Beauty. One of the Forbes 30 Under 30, she launched the business in 2015.

Born in Australia, Archer moved to the UK when she was 12. After graduating from the University of Cambridge, and a stint working as a journalist in East Africa, she knew she was going to work for herself. Archer launched Ruuby in 2015, and the company has since been voted best on-demand app by Vogue, Harpers' Bazaar and others.

Ruuby connects over 500 highly skilled beauty professionals with clients across London, and the platform offers a host of services, including blowdries, massages, manicures and makeup.
